Benjamin Joffe is a Partner at HAX, recognized as the world’s most active accelerator and seed investor in hardware startups, with over 180 IoT, robotics and health tech portfolio companies. Notable companies include “lego for robotics” Makeblock, NextThing (makers of the world’s first $9 computer) and Simbe Robotics. The B2C startups of HAX ran over 70 successful crowdfunding campaigns with an average funding above $400,000, including 8 in the world’s Top 100.  Benjamin has lived in China, Japan and South Korea since 2000 where he worked in strategy, telecom, Internet and gaming before turning to hardware in 2013. Born in Paris, Benjamin speaks English, French, Japanese and a fair bit of Mandarin. Benjamin is also an angel investor and a frequent speaker in global tech conferences including TEDx, TechCrunch Disrupt, Slush and Pioneers, his research shared online has been seen by over 1 million readers. He is a contributor for Forbes, TechCrunch and was a columnist for China Entrepreneur Magazine. Benjamin is also frequently quoted in numerous media such as WIRED, Bloomberg and The Economist.
